William, This looks very sharp and the pose is great w/ the raised foot. I would maybe add a bit more contrast to the image.

Cool pose, good sharpness, head angle and BG. I find it a bit tight in the frame and it could go a bit darker for my taste, maybe by adjusting the midtones and toning down the highlights on the bill.

I love the bird and pose, very nice. Other than above I think you have panning
in the BG from the blur. I'd back-up a bit on the blur radius.
    Very nice.

I love the feet on these guys Bill. They just look so obscenely huge compared to the bird. Nature is amazing at adapting to the needs of the animal. I really like the pose and the HA. I agree with toning down the image especially around the beak.

I love coots. You got the perfect pose. Small tweaks in the exposure as suggested above will help a lot. Having worked on many coot RAW files recently, I dont think it will be too difficult to achieve.

Lovely looking pose and nice details on the bird. As mentioned above a few tweeks. Very nice. Dave

Great suggestions! Indeed increasing contrast is generally a good idea for images shot under very soft lighting, and I did it here, but a bit too conservatively I agree.
LLija: I'm not sure what "panning" in the blurred background means? Posterization?
    Thanks guys. Bill

You know, I think it looks really nice like this with the low contrast. At least on my display. Very gentle light - easy on the eyes. The colors look pastel like in a good way. I like the dark to bright gradient of the background from the bottom to the top, too.

Anyway, to me it looks great. I can see everything clearly

Yes, exactly posterization, I can see it on my Mac clearly, I can see only slight posterization on my PC monitor
near the left edge. Not sure what is the reason for the difference between the two monitors?
