couldnt help but think of Dave Philips when i was shooting these guys. sure hope he makes a recovery!!

got to meet jackie s. yesterday. was great shooting with her, al and fabs in the pm and with gus in the am.

D300, bigma at 500mm, f/6.3, 1/250s, +1.7EV, ISO 800. had to lay down on the boardwalk to get a better perspective. the light was flat!! dead overcast and fairly dark out.

A sweet image Doctor...It was a pleasure see you at Wako...:) I like the capture, you have a good head angle with a sharp eye...would try darkening the water just a tad not too much, and toning down the warm bill...looking forward to more...

By the way, how do you like your new toy...:)

I like the framing maybe bring out blacks a tad more - well done. This is a hard bird to photo IMO, I posted one just a few back and it was a challenge - nice image.

I like the feel of this image and the details in the feather. I agree that the bill looks a bit too hot.

Great capture Harold... The bill does look and tad blown, but the detail in the feathers is incredible. Great job.... Congrats. See you soon!!

Good job on getting the feather detail. it is something about the whiteness of the coot bill that makes it clip so easily. Like the eye as well, getting the low angle really makes this image and supports the composition.
    I like it very much
    Cheers
