    Default Harlequin in Flight

Another Mark IV image from Barnegat. It's tough to lock focus on these fast moving flyers against a BG of a deep blue ocean!

Great flight image of this fast flying species. Is it a little noisy under the wing?

I think those are water droplets, but there could be a little noise too.

Beautiful Doug, sharpness is very good. Did you blur the BG manually?

Beautiful Doug, A very hard shot to get, these guys go so quick! Sharp and well exposed. I love the wing position and as you know, I wish it were mine:)

Another handsome Barnegat shot, Doug. Great wing position, color and detail for these fast-flying guys. Nicely done!

Loverly image, like trying to photograph a bullet. Great sharpness on the face and beautiful light on that bright chestnut patch. Considering that the light was from behind the bird you did well both in the field and at the computer. Thanks for the call back.

Awesome work Doug. Fast or not, you gotta be faster for nailing this one. Love the pose and it's sharp. What are your thoughts on the MkIV noise performance?

I haven't taken enough frames to comment yet, but ISO 800 is no worse than the Mark III. I'll definitely be posting impressions as I get more frames under my belt.

A well made in flight shot.
I like the BG, wing position, eye contact and the water droplets on the belly / side.
It seems like a bit of noise under the wing, maybe because of the EC -0.67?

It's definitely the price you pay to control the whites, which are blindingly white. I didn't need ISO 800 for the shot, and I could keep the near wing a little darker to minimize the noise. Here's a repost.

Doug, This is a really hard shot to get. Nice sharp details and you did really well w/ the exposure.

How are those colours Doug. I like the angle of flight and wing position, and he pops from the BG so well. Well captured.
