    This shot was taken in early afternoon sun.

    Specifics:

    Camera - Canon 50D
    ISO - 200
    Lens - 300L f/4
    Shutter - 1/350
    Aperture - f/8.0

    Sweet! I wish it was a bit darker over all and the feet were more visible. Nice catch light and composition. TFS!

    Very nice photo, Dave.
    I too like photographing the birds some may pass by because they're not very 'flashy' or colorful. :)
    Perhaps you'd consider just a bit more contrast to enhance the impact.
    Not that I disagree with your interpretation of the bird; it's just a suggestion.

    Thanks for the helpful feedback. After viewing the image this morning I agree that the image does not accurately portray the actual conditions.

    Here is the same image with much less PP. C&C appreciated.

    Good looking photo. I really like the nice pose as well as sharpness. I might have cropped a bit off the right and bottom to move the bird a bit off centre. Dave
