    I like this image because it shows the bittern in his habitat. cropped a little. didn't clone anything out. not as sharp as hoped for.
    D2Xs 80-400vr lens at 400mm. iso 100 1/250 at f/5.6 matrix metering
    what would you do to this image? thanks for looking and comments.

    I Craig,
    I like what you were trying to do, but would like to have seen at least the head area clear of any branches and reeds. I like Kostas clean up but its a bit too much for my taste...some thing in between...looking forward to your next one...:cool:

    Amazing clean up - well done Kostas. I agree with Gus that I'd leave a bit more of the grasses to give an in situ feel. Can the bittern be sharpened at all - maybe not because of the grasses?

    Hi Craig - Bitterns are hard - never been able to get a image I am really happy with.
    I think patience might be the key here.
    The OOF branches intersecting the beak are the most distracting - although removing them doesnt quite look right.
    Looking forward to seeing more :)
