    Default Grey Jay Lookback

While out for a snowmobile ride in the hills of Western Newfoundland on Wednesday we stopped at a local cabin for a break. As soon as we did 3 grey jays moved in for some of our lunch.

    D300
18-200VR @ 75mm (really wish i had anything but this lens!)
    f6.3
    1/800th
    ISO 200

about 70% of original frame. cropped to eliminate distracting element in upper right then a few tweaks in NX2.

Really wish for a couple more degrees of head turn and wish the background was a little smoother.

Tough lens for bird photography, but you seem to have done well. I might have made a vert. out of it as I find the bright BG a bit much. Like the look back pose.

I like the comp as is but as Joe mentioned it would look good as a vert also. HA looks fine to me, maybe bring down the bright bg a few points. Overall very well done. TFS

I like the HA, but I think it could certainly do with being vertical. Cropping out the tree makes it more pleasing, but leaves it a little tight on the left
