Nice exposure and look back pose. I might take some off the bottom to get the subject out of center.

I like the perspective, and only wish he had turned his head more towards you.

Perspective is good. the light direction does not appear to be optimal. The line of the background at the head level is a little distracting.
Is this the same white pelican we have in California and elsewhere?

Thank you folks for the comments It was indeed photographed in very harsh light , Ray I am not sure of the species present in California .
