    Although the coot is a common bird, for me at least, they are one of the most difficult birds to photograph. Clipping the highlights of the ivory white bill isn't the major problem either, it is getting detail out of the black head feathers. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

    Hi Bill,
    I like the placement of your subject in frame. The color rendition is good. You have a good head angle but the eye is a tad soft. Would selective sharpen it. aside from this, its good...looking forward to your next one...:cool:

    Hi Bill You are correct about this bird !! Did great holding the white bill tip and all that shadow detail ! Really like it !!! Should be able to select the eye and darken .. will appear sharper .. these look goofy lots of times while actually being sharp !!! Excellent image !!

    Hi Bill - agree with the above comments- a little sharpening to the eye will improve this a lot.
    I might crop some from the bottom to get rid of the feeling that the neck has been cut in the reflection.
    Keep em coming :)
