White-throated Sparrow - Super close up

While crouched down shooting a Common Merganser through the brush during the last hour of daylight, I heard a White-throated Sparrow call very close to me. I looked to my left and this bird (tan-striped morph) was only 6 feet away from me resting on a branch. I don't have many photos of songbirds laying down like this, so it was pretty nice. The fact that the bird was just on the edge of the MFD of my lens didn't hurt either.

Pity about the shadows and the foreground clutter in the LRC.
Exposure and sharpness look good and the detail is superb. Fine looking bird too.

Great one. Unusual to get one up this close and in this pose. Detail is excellent. I might be tempted to remove a bit of the clutter. Did you get the mergansers?

Light, sharpness and eye contact look good. Too bad about the shadow on the back and the branch in the foreground. I might remove the lower catchlight.
