It has been rainy, rainy, rainy lately, with no time to get out lately. Here is one from a while back. Taken on an overcast day at a local lake park. We were actually there just to walk, so this guy was a nice surprise. It is always fun when you can find a bird tame enough to allow head portraits at 400mm

Your expo is bang on Aidan. Love the stare and feather detail. WOW! Knocked me out almost. Well done! :)

Hey Aidan, its been rainy, rainy, rainy here too. Havent seen blue sky for over a week now. Great portrait, and you have exposed the darker plumage nicely. Nice and sharp too. If anything, I would blend away the darker area on the left.

Good-looking specimen, good sharpness and eye contact. I could also see it as a vertical crop.

Nicely done Aidan. You have captured it well. I also like it is a bit tighter in frame and would suggest cropping out the darker area on left. Great details on head. Dave

Thanks for the comments everyone. Good advice on the dark spot. I have a vertical image as well.
