    Default Wood duck

Here's a picture taken last October. As the wood duck was busy cleaning himself, I decided to get my rain gears and started approaching him slowly to be able to get a clear shot. It stayed there for quite a moment allowing me te get a few shots from different angles. Here's one!

Really nice and detailed. Love the soft light. If it were mine I'd make it vertical. Perhaps a bit too much space on right,. What are your thoughts? TFS. :)

    Hi Akos,

After reading your comment, I went back to my tiff and cropped it vertically. I quite like it, but personally I find it a bit tight in front of the duck,(I dont't really have much to play with.) What do you think?

It's great! But naturally it is a matter of taste! So either way is fine, as long as you like it; that is the most important measure I reckon. :)

Great details and exposure. I like both crops. TFS

    Lise:

Very nice woodie. I like both versions, but if I had to choose, I would prefer the looser rendition.
I always enjoy seeing their feet. Overall, your exposure balance is good. I might try to tease a bit more out of the dark areas. Artie always comments that you need to be able to see the purple cheek patch to make it a great wood duck shot. I know how challenging that can be.

    Thanks for sharing.

I'm loving this shot! Colors are fantastic, nice clean background, nice lighting, great head position. Awesome work! Both versions work great but I would go with the first if I had to choose.
