    Default Reed Bunting

    Hi

Took a trip out locally at the weekend and found this male reed bunting in the orange glow of some early morning light amongst a dense reedbed. Not easy conditions to get a clear shot of the bird but got there eventually.

    Taken with 1Dmk3 and 500mm lens Taken at ISO400 F5.6 at 1/640s.

    Cheers

Nice light and composition. I only wish the entire reed perch was in focus, but cant control everything. Very nice as presented.
    Great mood to this image.

I only wish that the OOF foreground branches were in the background instead. I like how the sidelighting illuminates the tail and back of the bird. Wouldn't mind it a bit brighter on the face and shoulders.

I love the surroundings of the bird, though I'd like his face an chest to be a little brighter. Very powerful composition, i don't mind the main perching fading into the background at all, part of the mood. Congratulations!

I like the setting and composition. I find the blade of grass in the OOF foreground on the left side a bit distracting.

OOF grass front left and side-lighting spoils it ever so slightly, but for the rest it's very powerful. I love it!

Thanks for the replies. The difficulty I had with this photo was the bird located in the middle of of a small reedbed so there was always going to be some OOF reeds going on somewhere in the frame. The atmosphere of the photo appealed to me but I take on board the helpful comments about some lightening.

    Cheers
