I captured this action at Viera Monday AM using the Mark III and the 500 handheld at about 10 feet. It took quite a while for this egret to down his catch so I have quite a long series of images. Too bad the frog was already dead when I got there. I couldn't top last year's fantastic winner of the birding festival, an egret with a live frog.
Excellent catch Susan !!!! I like the intense eye to eye contact Even with the frog having passed to better grounds it is one fine image !!!! Would suggest going tighter The action is with the prey and would also eliminate the little part of leg showing !!! Big Congrats !!!
Nicely done on holding the whites. Would crop just a tad tighter as previously suggested. I really like the expression on both of your subjects eyes. The bills colors are real nice as well. The falling water drops are a nice touch. BTW, thanks for compliment regarding my frog photo.
