    Default Cattle Egret

Captured this image using the D3, 600 f/4 and a TCE 17 II convertor. I was very impressed with the quality of the convertor, although the AF isnt that quick, if the focus is in the general area of the subject, it locks focus very quickly, and tracks really well. Cleaned up some of the BG.

Sweet wing position and great SH, whites pass the exposure test, nice BG too. TFS

Interesting "levitating" pose here! I like the overall colours, but wonder if you could tone down the exposure by about 1/3 stop as it feels a tiny bit light. That would probably also bring out a few extra details on the bird's left wing (our right). I like the comp, and nicely patterned BG.

Mark, I would call this a "ballerina pose". Good wingspread, and this is really sharp. The egret really pops well from the BG, and good placement in the frame too.

great pose, exposure, colour and techs bud...
something looks funny between the primaries of the left wing (our right), hard to say for sure at this size?

Thanks for comments folks. Morkel, I see that. I checked the Raw file and looks the same. Looks like some bad selective work, but its all natural.

    Mark:

Excellent wing display. The only thing I would add, is that to my eye there is a subtle green color cast to the image. Daniel usually comments on these, so perhaps it is just me, but I did run an Average blur color correction on it, and it looked more natural with the opacity slider for that effect set at 30%.

    Cheers
