    Default Leucistic Hen Turkey

I created this image on Sunday. This bird was in a flock of about a dozen other birds in an apple orchard. My line of sight to the birds was obstructed by many bushes and hanging branches. Lighting was also poor. There seem to be a number of leucistic turkeys around Ottawa for some reason.

Canon 40D. Sigma 50-500 at 500mm handheld with vehicle used as a blind. Cropped to about 75% of full frame.

The image isn't great but I'm just posting to share it with other members. I think that it moved its head just as I created this image. Perhaps some selective sharpening would help. The ground was really littered with broken branches as well.

    1/400 seconds, F 6.30, ISO 400. Flash - Flash not fired

Wicked bird. Do you have an image with a relatively sharp head :) The body is quite sharp and the amazing feathers well-defined.

    Hi Artie,

Sorry I'm late in replying. I've only noticed your comment as I've been very busy and not had time to be on BPN lately. I'll have to check to see if I have an image with a good sharp head.

The conditions were terrible between low light, branches and trying to create images with my body twisted from a 135 degree angle CCW from the front of my vehicle.
