    Default Red Bellied Woodpecker

    I have been try to photograph this species for a while in my backyard setup. I was not even attempting to photograph woodpeckers on this outting, but low and behold he showed up quite unexpectedly.




    Camera Model: Canon EOS-1D Mark II
    Focal Length: 400.0mm
    CCD Width: 6.72mm
    Exposure Time: 1/640
    Aperture: f/5.6
    ISO equiv: 200

    Everything is great: EXP, SH, and head angle, plus your angle to the bird. I would just go for the traditional woodpecker COMP: 1/3, 1/3, 1/3.

    Ummmm...yes I like that better.. Couldn't figure out what to do with that massive tree trunk, but that is definately more balanced. TY

    YAW. I meant to mention the improved balance :) so good job figuring that out. The standard woodpecker comp that I mentioned is just one of hundreds if not thousands of lessons, points, and techniques covered in ABP II (916 pages on CD only) :)

    Super and thanks. The only caution is that you will need to read and study it to improve. Lots of folks think that you can buy a big lens, buy the CD book, put it under your pillow, and become world class :)
