    I like the wing detail and fact that it reminds me of a Terradactyl.

    A700 + 18-250mm, 250mm, 1/640, f/8, ISO 200, Heavy Crop and some Post Processing in Lightroom.

    I like the look on his eye :)
    I think it could benefit of a bit temperature rising and a vertical crop could work better from a compositional point, too much negative space. The heavy crop diluted some of the plumage detail.
    Keep them coming.

    I like your Heron Jeff. Considering the short lens you were working with that's a very clean shot. I would have to agree with Fabs, especially on the verticle format. Make sure if you do, crop from the left just a little and use the balance of space enough for him to look out of the picture. Nice job, pretty bird.
