Probably a bit tough on the shoulder in the field.
Hard to hand-hold without IS. :D

I've seen this before (the video, not the lens). Note it appears to be a mirror system, Cassegrain design.

Seriously, it seems as if you do need a large support like a telescope mount. I'll bet the spy agencies have a few.
If you're on a budget you might have to settle for this.
