Hi Ron These guys are numerous but getting a keeper is not easy I don't have many and do try !!!!
Might suggest giving the bird more room in frame As presented looks tight Also for tight images having the bird sideways helps a lot You will have most of the bird oof in this short distance and looks odd The tail as presented detracts from the image and nothing you can do in the current pose
I like the exposure head angel and sharpness If anything you went a little over in the usm Can see in the chest feathers !!! Looking forward to your next try Good luck !!! by the way if you wand more extensive feedback for some images do post in the eager to learn !!!
..................... Del still can't get over your avatar ... that is one slick looking bird Love it !!!
You are so right Del... I have to get used to this forum having folks that really care about the conditions of the shot.
This was shot with a Canon 20D using a 500f4 IS. ISO 200 -- f8 at 1/500th and I was using a tripod. You are looking at about an 80% crop of the original. I processed this in Lightroom and used CSPro for sharpening. I have a blind set up in my backyard overlooking some old dead wood and branches and I attract birds with feed to the area.
