I posted a portrait pose of this same bear earlier from a side view. I was also able to get his picture when he turned and looked directly at me. Photo is full frame except cropped to fit web dimensions. Some corrections in PS for exposure, saturation and sharpening and filter for BG noise.

Hi Louis, you are certainly lucky with your bears.

Firstly I might recrop and lose the black edge on the lhs from where you cropped the original. Might also drop the exposure down a fraction, as it looks a little 'hot' overall, or the saturation perhaps. May I also ask, why do you use a filter for BG noise? At ISO 400 and the DOF used, I am surprised there is any, however it is still visible in parts, especially on the lhs near the nose. However, your images are improving overall.:)

    Nice one Louis !!!

Dof wise you really don't get much even if you stop down to 16 with that lens close up !! ... all you can do is focus on the eyes which you did !! Agree on toning down just a bit, original is probably a bi over !!! .. would also crop a bit from the right side !!

Great advise given above, nice on your face portrait, shame about the side light.
