    Default Semipalmated Plover

Here's a semipalmated plover taken this past september just before the last rays of light. As the sun was so strong, I've removed a bit of red and added a bit of blue trying to balance better the image!! Do you find it still to reddish??
    Thanks for stopping by,

Hi Lise - Love the lighting, BG, and comp. Curious if this has been cropped greatly? Fine detail looks a bit flat, and I may be seeing sharpening halos around the bird and some of the rocks. Could also be compression/jpeg artifacts?

    Hi Dave,

I would say that this picture represents about 65% from the original. As for the sharpening, I find that most of my pictures taken just before sunset show a lack of details in the plumage! Thanks for your constructive comment!

I like the wide crop, look-back pose and light. Sharpness looks good here. I wish we could see the right foot and the tail and plant wouldn't merge.

Sharpness looks good from here too. WB is good - it looks like it should for last rays:). I wish there was some separation between tail and plant. I imagine that is an OOF crashing wave in the BG? Looks good.

Lovely warm colours, and I like the pose. I would maybe lighten the eye a bit.

You're right Daniel, it is effectively an OOF wave in the background!!

To me this is beautiful! Agree with Axel regarding foot. Super lighting and head angle. Well captured!
