At least, that's what the expression on his face seems to be telling. It was bitterly cold that day.

Just beautiful Fabs! I love the color, texture, and detail on your foxes contrasted with the snow. The eye contact and relaxed pose are wonderful. Thank you for sharing these!

I agree the color is great. Red Fox on white snow is always a winner. The expression does show some consternation. I wonder if a crop from the top to eliminate some of the dark area would be better?

You just gotta love that white/black/red combo! Stunning image...and the fact that he's standing so still with that look on his face...you nailed it, Fabs. I do like the darker area at the top because it shows the snow is flying around him but I also think an all-snow BG would be lovely as well.

Very nice Fabs. Keep the black on the top, it helps let you know how much it's snowing. Don't know why he's miserable though, that wonderfully thick coat should be keeping him plenty wam. :-)

Fabs, he does look a bit down. I like the detail, and he seems to have been there for a while, as the snow is building up on his head. I would liked to have seen this with a full snow BG.

A classic pose of a superb animal. The snow really sets the colours off extremely well.

On first viewing I wondered about the 'trees/woodline' in the BG, but feel that it puts everything into context and for me, the crop is spot on. My only question would be, a tad more selective sharpening on the fox based on Al's past posting.;)

    Thanks

Wonderful expression, Fabs and I love the fox's colour vs the snowy BG. Beautiful capture.

As much as I find the dark BG area a little distracting, it does tell the story of the falling snow and the look
    of disdain on the fox.

I like the dark BG, I think it adds depth to the scene. Great expression!
Is it full frame? I wonder if a little more space on the left would make it more balanced.

Can I be the first to say that I think the look is pensive rather than misery. Whatever it is it is marvelous!

A lovely picture and a great expression, Fabs! Catching animal and bird expressions is one of the things that is a real challenge and rush if one succeeds!:)

Definetly does not look to be in a good mood. Comp, colors and exposure look good, agree with a little selective sharpening on head. Very nice portrait. TFS

When I saw your most recent post of this fox I had to go looking for some more. What stunning images! The combination of sharp fine detail and at the same time a feeling for the softness of that fur is wonderful. A great mood to all of these images.:)
