My husband and I were on the way out the door to go look for bald eagles when we spotted some cedar waxwings on our crab apple trees. After just 30min of fast and furious shooting. The birds and frost soon vanished.

Lovely textures with the soft plumage and sharp spicules of frost, Fil. Berries add a nice touch of colour. A puff of fill flash may have brightened things a little and added a catchlight.

    Tony,

Thanks for the suggestion. If the birds are out tomorrow I'll be sure to get the flash on.

Love these birds. Gorgeous setting with the berries and frost. Really nice composition. Would be stellar in the right light.

Gorgeous bird....would love to see one! I think this is a very nice image. I took the liberty of making some changes...hope you don't mind. Cloned out some elements, used levels and slight sharpening, NR on BG.

Very nice repost, I was going to suggest more room at the bottom. Love the winter feel to it, very nice.

Thanks everyone for your comments and suggestions. I tried to lighten things up a bit. My cloning didn't look so hot so I left the background. I agree more room would be nice at the bottom. That was all I had to work with.
