    Default Yellow breasted Greenfinch

    1/1000 @ F 5.6 , ISO 250 . Spot metered.

Got this beauty on a trip to Sattal in Northern India , foothills of Himalaya.

I was looking out for a Himalayan Rubythroat , but this one came a perched in great light , out in the open .

    Made this with a Canon 1D MK III , 600mm f4 IS .

    Cheers,
    Rakesh

Hi Rakesh, I find this image pleasing. I personal like the composition as it helps emphasize the the small size of the bird. The colors look good on my monitor and I think you captured a pose with a good head angle. I know this is a bit picky but the small twig that is casting a shadow on the bird distracts me. I hope you don't mind but I took the image into Photoshop and did a quick removal of the shadow and twig. It makes a subtle difference. Something to consider. Thanks for sharing.

Good-looking bird and nice BG, too. For my taste, there is a bit too much negative space and would crop it a bit tighter.

Ditto Axel's comments. Love the lighting and beautiful BG in this image. Thanks for sharing Rakesh.
