Well this has been one of the easiest ducks this winter to photograph I've had more opptunities with this species
in flight then any of the others. This is my favorite so far as I like the solid water BG.:)

    Thanks For Looking

Cool pose, good sharpness, BG and angle. If anything, I might remove the specular highlights.

Love the action and colors here James. Technical perfection on the capture. I agree removing bright specs would probably add to the appeal of an already stunning flight photo.

A beautiful bird. Well timed with the wing position and good detail. Comp does work, but I'd maybe take a bit more off the bottom as the bird is a little too central.

Beautiful pose and wing details. I like the IQ of your flight shots. The slate blue BG is lovely.

Fantastic bird, colors and pose. The BG is great too, uniform but not completely washed out.
The blue plumage detail is my favorite here.

James, I can see why you rate this over your other inflight images - simply superb. Excellent IQ, and just love the selection of colours, and all against that killer BG. Congrats on a fine image.

This is a super image, for all the reasons others have mentioned. I actually like the specular highlights on the feathers and would keep them.
My only suggestion (and purely as a personal preference) would be to lighten the background and perhaps add a gradient to vary the luminance.
I think a brighter sky brings out the colors of the teal a little better. I also sharpened feather details.

    Hi James,

Gorgeous shot man! Love the wing position, shapness, flight angle and colours. I like the idea of lightening up the water like David suggested but would probably leave the colors as in the original post (nice and warm). Well done!

Yikes! I thought it was the sky! (Obviously, I should have read the original post down to the last word. Mea culpa.)

Excellent flight pose, wing position and details James, love this one. I also like David's respot with cooler blues.
