    Default Lotus pond and Koi

Another common theme in oriental paintings... this is a composite of two images - one from a fish tank and the other that of a lotus pond. The bg is a gradient with a texture. Used Topaz simplify on a different layer and changed the opacity to get the final effect. Hope you like it...

Indranil, I like the look you have created here. Very colorful and fun. The use of the gradient in the BG is subtle yet effective. Nicely done.

Indranil, I like the Topaz simplify effect on the koi:) A neat image - I agree with Denise on the gradient bg -
    it's just right.

Nice work Indranil! I like what you have done with the balance, elements and BG. I haven't attempted painting Koi. A tough subject for me due to the difficulty of the viewing angles and creating the presence of water! I like your viewing angle but I don't see the waters surface here, and so for me the fish, flowers and pads are suspended in air. It's just me! Nice work on a nice week!

Hi Dan, I did think about the water surface but came up with the shadows for the fish and lotus pads giving the sense of depth. I thought the viewers will be able to imagine transparent water surface with this top view. Here is a repost with water ripple effect in between the lotus pads and the fish...
