    Default Male Greyheaded Woodpecker



    Canon 40D, Canon EF 300/2.8L IS USM, 2x extender, 600mm, f6.3, iso 500, 1/400s, Aperture priority, Canon 580EXII, better beamer
    The image are created in a town called Falun in Sweden!

    Magnus:

    Your bird is sharp,well exposed, nice eye,foot. I like the tiny patch of snow to set the season.

    The background is a bit bright for my tastes, and I might try to tone it down, as well as tone down the brighter areas of the trunk. in RLC.

    Rather amazing light control with your beamer, to not have the trunk be brighter, like the bird.

    Gorgeous species! Nice image as well. Agree on BKGR, and bird looks a hair over-flashed, but that was probably neccessary considering the backlight. Bravo and thanks for sharing!

    I have a repost that you maybe like better! Itīs a matter of taste if you like the warmer light or not! Itīs the actual light when i took the picture!

    I like your original post better! The highlights on the lower right of the tree trunk are the only thing that distracts me.
