welcome here Gary! you'll enjoy BPN a lot.
top shot this...I still need a decent jacana and you have this beaut. exposure spot on with strong comp. I'm in 2 minds regarding the levelling since the leaves indicate a bit of skewness but the bird's back is level. I'm guessing a little rotation would make him look like falling over.

Welcome to BPN Gary. I like the low angle here, as if you captured this from the water. Well timed to show the large foot out the water, and the colours look good too. The image looks level to me.

Thanks for the comemnts. I was in two minds about the straightness as well, but came to the same conclusion as Morkel about the bird falling over if I rotated it.

Excellent view of the huge foot! I love that we can see how the "thumb" is shorter and blunt...perfect adaptation for balance on those floating leaves. I like the comp alot, and yes the image looks level to me too. As posted the face could stand a bit more sharpening IMO. Belly has some blocked blacks caused by the strong and high sun angle.

Wow look at that foot!! Nice positioning of the bird in the frame, neat colours.

Great pose, Gary. I agree a little more sharpening would be good. That short toe is really interesting and is, I suspect, the result of an injury. Illustrations and other photos I have seen show all 4 toes are about the same length
