Default Hermit Thrush sitting on snow

This is the same overwintering individual that I posted a few days ago. I went back specifically to get photographs of it on the snow as I don't think too many people have images of this species directly on snow. When it did land it was for very brief moments, or in messy snow covered with too many seed remnants from nearby feeders. This time it came in from the fresh snow and actually sat momentarily on top of this little crest. I also like the snow at the base of its bill, which I dodged a bit to accentuate it more. Cloned out a couple of seed shells at right where my signature currently is. The snow actually looked this blue in the shadows and I do like it, but I have no problem modifying it if you think it is too blue.

Very sharp, love the composition and the DOF does not bother me at all. You also did well with the exposure.

Very nice as posted Dan. A bonus would have been to see the feet too. I'm sorry that we missed each other on Sunday. Perhaps we can meet up soon and I can get my first images of this species. It would be a lifer for me.

Very nicely done, Daniel, the ice makes for a great habitat :)

I like the unusual setting and details. DOF looks good, too.
