Default Theme - Asian Lotus Blossoms

    Attached Images Attached Images

This started out as an overly sharp photo of some lotus blossoms in a pool at our local art museum. I first used
fract. BW01 at a low opacity, an old paper effect, dup layer color curves - solarize at 60% opacity, added a
homemade chop (I finally found an English to Chinese conversion website that I liked), then a slight Topaz
Simplify, crisp edge. The chop means "inner beauty".

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated:)

Nicely done, Cheryl...it feels like you hand painted a sketching! Love the soft muted palette and the way everything is simplified...it really gives it that "asian feel."

Cheryl, I like the effects and the muted colors. I wish the flower on the right wasn't cut off-but it really doesn't hurt the overall look. I like the subtle hints of red in the flower blossoms and the addition of the black. Very nice work.

Fine art Cheryl! Lotus is a traditional subject for Chinese art and you have done well with it here! I like the white lettered chop! I think that the chop may work better with the characters lined up vertically but this is great!

Beautiful composition, Cheryl. I like the square format with more of the leaves on the canvas. Very nice colors and tone. Excellent work!
