There are so many great Blue Herons nesting in our part of the world and Viera is no exception. The nests take on a slightly different look since they build there nests in the palm trees. Quite a contrast from Wakodahatchee. We had a wonderful time photographing the GBH in beautiful evening and morning light.
Very interesting composition. There's a nice tension between the eyes/beaks pointing right, and the grasses pointing left.
As a bonus, you have all these similar arcs working throughout the image. Really nice.
Kudos and ditto to most comments. I also really like the separation created by the curve on the lower bird by the darker feather line - really helps each bird distinguish itself. and I love David's flashy curves! Excellent tool to illustrate comments.
