    Hi Folks

Testing my eye in our garden today, and lucked out with a few birds. Concerned about overall display brightness & resolution. Test bar on bottom of page shows distinctive color on both ends. (To my eyes) ;)

CC's welome and appreciated, they don't have to be kind ;)

What a pretty little wren, Gus! Details look pretty good. I think it displays okay, on my monitor.

Gus - it does look a bit dark on my monitor; I think the blacks are clipped. Looks like the sun was straight above you, making the image quite contrasty?
Like the composition, the bird's position, HA, sharpness of the details on the bird. It's interesting that all of the dof is from the bird forward; was the focus on the bird's eye?
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

    Hi Uncle Gus,
You did well considering the harsh lighting...I like the capture. You have good color rendition with fine details...would suggest toning down the perch and the bird's legs just a tad. The eye needs a little selective sharpening...looking forward to your next one...its nice having you back...

    Hi Folks

Thank you all for the "Heads Up" . . . Gail. you're right on the money, appreciate all the help.

This was new to me focusing on the white adobe wall in manual, and changing speed until the blinkies disappeared. As mentioned it was harsh light with a brilliant sunny sky at bout 2 PM. Also, as mentioned I was pointing down. I have a couple of shots at eye level, and will post one tomorrow, as I need all the help I can get.

You folks are the greatest, and have come a long way since BPN was started in January 2008.

Hi Uncle Gus - good advice above - light is the hardest thing - gotta love overcast days.
Does look a little contrasty - looking forward to more.
Glad to see your sight is improving :)
