I'm very proud to announce that one of my photos has been selected as one of 18 finale photos in a national photocontest! The contest is related to a television series in which a bunch of scientists are following the route of Charles Darwin's Beagle travel on a comparable vessel, only perfoming modern science. Among them is the famous traveller and writer Redmond O'Hanlon. One could enter 5 photo's that were taken in a place that Darwin visited. I entered photos taken at mount Teide, Tenerife. A magical place.
Pre-selection was done by a jury, the winner will be decided by public votes. But I'm happy already, since this was my first entry ever in a photography contest and I submitted a photo that was taken with a simple point-and-shoot, without any PP and before my time with BPN :D!!!
Check out my entry and the competition at http://stem.omroep.nl/VPRO/2010/147-...-fotowedstrijd.
Thanks for all your congratulations! Fabs, I was tempted to do so, but I think it would be considered cheating, although no specific rules have been stated. I think the idea is that only the Dutch and Belgians (the two countries in which the show is currently broadcasted) are allowed to vote.
I'll keep you posted!
