    Default Harbor Seal

According to the guide books, this is supposed to be rare. However, the books need to be rewritten as harbor seal sightings in the winter time here on the Outer Banks of North Carolina are growing exponentially each year. Many believe this is due to the quality of beaches in comparison to the New England area where industrial fishing practices have taken a heavy toll. What ever the case may be, they are a welcomed addition to the list of migratory creatures we host in the winter here.

Very nice capture and pose. The oof area along the bottom doesn't look natural to me.

Seal pups always offer a cute post. Like the colours, however would agree that the foreground does not look real, plus the image doesn't look sharp, or needs some more USM around the head only. Perhaps some selective sharpening? Could you also add the EXIF data too please.

    Thanks

The foreground is hazy like that due to a combination of blowing sand and a mound of sand closer than 6 feet to me lens. Personally that part does not bother me as it just adds to the dreamy like effect of the blowing sand elsewhere.
