First day out with the Mk4, worked well and liked the image quality. My biggest concern was the AF ... no more concerns there !!! ISO is cleaner than the 3 and looking forward to getting comfortable with all the settings.... will be trying some Video :) ... for this chase I selected all 45 points in AI servo Just cropped to and bottom for proportion.

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

Entire ring of fire, impressive. The 7D has defined zones which I have been using, maybe I should open up the dynamic focus some?

I assume the acquisition speed is great as well?

ISO=800 with no noise, I know what to do if I find 5K laying around:)

The water droplets caught while suspended in mid-air are rather impressive. I love the action; I am also amazed that the rooster tail created by the front bird is touched by the second bird. These birds are really moving!
Why did you meter off the sky and not the water?
    Cheers

Hi Gail The idea is to meter on something which is the same all the time, water can change shades easier than clear sky. Same metering on green foliage would have been just at meter reading, this is about the same as taking an incident reading !!

Mode wise I do more Av than anything else, I'm comfortable and can compensate fast but with varying bg will go to manual !!!
