Thought this was interesting, a raven looking for food in the snow. He would brush the snow aside with its beak and investigate. Large noisy birds and fun to watch !!

    Comments welcome and much appreciated

You are a man for a photographic challenge! :D Exposure is well balance and raven exposure must be right on to get that purple/blue sheen on the wings. I like the action and the whiteness of the upturned snow. Was the rest of the snow crusty? I am not sure that I like a gray tinge to the bg snow, but the upturned is obviously correctly exposed as is the bird??? So...???
The other thing that is interesting to me, as a person who sees ravens up close almost every day, is that without clear evidence of the beak, I couldn't tell what the black beastie is really. Maybe the next shot in the series with bill upturned and snow covered is the winner?
Anyway I think getting this exposure right as you did with snow, black bird and sun very high in the sky is quite a feat.
Someday after I have been doing this for dozens more years, I expect to be half as good.
    Thanks for sharing
    Cheers

Exposure is dead on and the additional stops of light are perfect. Nice detail in the darks too, as you know if you get on right the others will follow.

I love the activity never seen it before, hope he found something - nice one Al.

Very nice Al! I love the corvids and the ravens are the kings!! Always a challenge to get the colors on these fellows. This could be the ultimate exposure challenge! :D

Black bird, white snow, bright sun. A challenge well met! Good exposure and interesting behavior. Would like to see one of the ones with the beak showing better.
