Taken during spring 2009, can't wait for the next fieldseason with loads of Godwits, Redshank and Ruffs! :)

This one was looking intensly for some insects.

    Thanks for watching,

Loved the pose, shooting angle and placement of the bird in the frame. Nice BG too. The bird looks a tad over-sharpened and over-contrasty to me.

I like the attentive pose, eye contact, setting and BG. Sharpness looks good on my monitor. If it were mine, I might tone down the whites a tad.

Nice and sharp with a concentrated pose. Always looks unusual to see waders in fields as we almost only see them on tidal flats.

Thanks all for the comments, very much apprieciated!

But I have to say that I don't the contrast and sharpness issues! From my side it looks clean, I have a regular workflow and actually backed off on my sharpening here a bit more than usual. I do see a little halo around the bill though. The same for the contrast, it might be that leveling out the warm evening light might have added a bit too much contrast for some, but from my end the bird pops nicely. Here is a screenshot of what my histogram looks like, maybe that is helpful.....In any case thanks a lot for the comments makes me think about the image that much more....:)

    Cheers,

    Krijn

Krijn, looking at this again, I take back my "tad oversharpened" comment. It must be the contrast in the white feathers and the dark lines that fooled my eyes.
