Found these cheetahs late one afternoon in the Kalahari.

Just loved the golden light, grass and depth. Pity about the brach - but you take what you get (the car was already moving as we were going to miss closing time at the camp).

I might try and add some space in front of the OOF cat later...

    Nice one Morkel. ;)

Adding some more space would help, easy to do. Just a hint more.

Awesome comp, love the exp & sharpness. the OOF cheetah in the BG really adds to the image for me. As you said, a little more canvas on right.
    Cheers

Morkel - Love the tone here, and juxtaposition of the 2 Cheetahs. DOF looks great too, I think you could probably clone out the branch (enough existing Cheetah patterns to heal damaged ones), but it doesn't bother me much.

I like the out of focus cheetah. As if a mirror image. I don't mind the branch. It is in focus and more importantly, it is not infront of the face. It would have been nice, if the out of focus cheetah were trailing the one in focus. Thanks for sharing.

Really like the colour here on the front cat, Morkel! Having just shot a lot of cheetah, I know how difficult it is to nail them, frame them and follow them, all in the car, and often on the wife's side of the car too! Adding canvas will give you more of a postbox format, which is nice.

Morkel, Artistic creation, I like how the one in the backdrop appears as a silhouette, very nice image, loved it. As you said, just a bit of space in the front would be good, but at least you didn't crop the face/head. :-)

Hey mate, amazing how the cheetah in the BG, mirror's the cheetah in the FG ( or the other way round) Nice and sharp, and he pops nicely from the grass. They look a bit under nourished.

thanks Stu. they were young ones so probably their success ratio in hunting isn't the best yet, but I don't remember thinking they were overly thin at the sighting...
