    Default American Kestrel

Here is another shot from October last year. Female American Kestrel. It's a rather tight crop but I like the pose and look back.

    7D + 400 f/5.6 @ f/8 1/2000sec ISO 800 + 1/3EV sw: Canon DPP 3.7.2 Digital Processing: Crop and NR

Can you find the prey :D ?

Arash, I like the pose and colours, but this shot is defenitly lacking in IQ probably as a result of the tight crop as you pointed out. I would try and give the kestrel a bit more space to see if that improves the IQ.

Yep the IQ not up there with your usual standards. I like the pose and yes, can see the prey. some kind of bird?

I like the pose with the tilted head, and can see the prey infront of one of the legs, and hanging down on the other side ofthe perch. Could be a bird or lizard.

The head tilt makes this very interesting. Is this a heavy crop? There seems to be a lack of fine details. As for the prey, is it a bird?

Hi Axel, prey is a lizard parts of tail and a hand are visible. Yes it is a tight crop as I mentioned, in my book expression and light comes before IQ so I sometimes keep and enjoy looking back at photos despite lacking IQ :)

I think this needs maybe a slight downward curve as it looks a bit washed out but other then that still a nice shot Arash.
