Plenty sharp and nice sidelighting. Wish the tail was also in focus. But that is because the bird is angled towards the camera.

    Great image showing the plumage.

Gorgeous color and lighting and excellent eye contact and detail. IMO I would like to have seen a larger F stop to have had more of the bird in focus and a tad more room on the left for the tail. Killer BG Jan and sharp. Beautiful !

Wonderful color and exposure it is so easy to blow the reds on brightly colored birds I also like the contrast between the bird and BG it really makes the Beeeater stand out.

Jan, this is the bee-eater that makes all the others appear drab - a lovely compo of this adult. F13 about is required for tail to bill tip to be all in focus, but my eye stays on his eye. Now, did you nail the take-off? lol

This is one heck of a bird. Envying you for being able to get so close to such a beautiful bird. I dont mind the shallow DOF. Beautiful BG. A little cleanup needed on the clone stamps on the perch....on left side.

Looking forward to the take-off Jan
