I spent a week at Mapungubwe NP in Northern South Africa late in 2007. This cuckoo was calling constantly at our campsite, and I managed quite a few pictures.

Excellent exposure and detail and a lovely BG. I would tone the perch a little and add just a tad more canvas on top. Lovely image and many thanks for sharing Nevi.

lovely green plumage on the Cuckoo, I agree with Judy on the perch and also think a little fill flash would have help to bring out more detail on the head.

Lovely pose from the cuckoo Nevil, and I like the colours. I feel some additional sharpening will help, and some NR on the BG. Another vote for toning down the perch.

Lovely - live here and could yet not nail one, although often hear its call in summer. A wee bit more contrast wiil improve the visual impact, methinks.

Very nice pose, eye contact and background Nevil. I would add canvas above.
