    Default Asian

I spent quite a bit of time looking at images from the previous Asian theme week and tried to incorporate some of the asian flair as was done previously.

    The characters translate as:

"When you meet someone wise, learn from them and be inspired to be as wise as they are."

I thought it fit the idea in the photo of the juvi tern learning to fish from the parent.

From the original, I did Find Edges in soft light blend mode, painted back some details, Render light/texture, sepia texture overlay, added the characters, chop (my initials), the characters, the frame and the title.

A beautiful soft rendition. Very nice pp work Patti. I like the color tones and the words are meaningful. Nice chop too.

Really nice Patti! You did do some homework! The message is in the image! Some improvements could be to add blacks overall and to reduce the size of the chop and the calligraphy, then move the chop up under the bottom of the calligraphy. This would seem to balance the composition (IMO:)).

Thanks Denise. You might recognize that style (or not if I didn't do it very well :)). I attempted to copy the style you used for some of your Sanderling Christmas card creations.

Thanks Dan! I made an attempt to redo this one with your suggestions. I made a simpler frame too. Not sure if I understood how to "add blacks", but I just did a levels adjustment and increased the blacks.

Patti, I like both versions for the image. The second one has more pop, but the first one has a soft look to it that is appealing also. But I like this frame alot more. The chop and words seem more balanced as Dan said.

Great work on the repost Patti, exactly what I had in mind! As for the blacks, you did well. You could add blacks with a selective colors layer and just play with the appropriate colors, adding blacks that way also.

    Hi Patti

I like the way you showed the young student paying attention to the words of wisdom from its Elder. A picture says a 1000 words.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Patti, the repost is perfect! Moving the chop really balanced the image. I love the thought that went into this:)

Repost with the large black frame and more contrast work for me. Nicely done Patti.
