This is a small part of the background foliage from the Egret that I posted during the Color Shift week. I changed
the hue and used a glowing edge filter. I thought it had an oriental look to it so I thought I'd start off Asian week:)
The green foliage on the left bothered me but I couldn't figure out what to do with it - tried several things that
    didn't work.:o

Hi Cheryl. Thanks for starting the theme! I can see the Asian elememts within here! In my repost, I quick masked and selected a few of those elements and then alternately applied a curves layer to the inverse selections. As you can see, the floral elements stand out a bit. I also took the liberty of creating a chop just to illustrate what the chop can add to the "Asian" feel. The chop is a big part, not only of the feel, but the composition in Asian art. Keep'um coming:).

Cheryl, Really nice start for the week. I like the idea of a chop and it adds so much to the Asian feel. I like the crop in the repost and the way that the flowers now go on a diagonal. Nicely done.

    Cheryl,

The bold, bright colors and floral pattern do have an Asian look. I like the treatment you used. I think the "glowing edge" really makes the pattern come alive.

Pretty wild Cheryl, but I really like it because it is purple.:D I like how Dan has brightened one area of the bough to make it stand out more.
