    Hi Lady Mirenchu,
I like the composition, image and capture. I like the gradual transition from the whites to the blacks. Your whits are a little on the hot side on the upper and middle section of the bird's back, an easy fix in post processing...:) aside from this, you did well I like it...its all about feel, and you captured the two essential ingredients to the soup which is the feel and the mood...proud of you...keep them coming...

Nice one, regarding the f/11, might have borrowed some shutter here. If you use Av mode share any compensation when shooting whites. Dong well my friend, this is a hard one, black vs white agree with comments above - keep em coming and watch the histogram! Expose for highlights, in this case, the bird was a highlight!

Hi Mirenchu - this is a lovely image. I think egrets are kind of hard to capture well because their feathers seem to loss detail in all that whiteness. I think you were aiming for a soft image, but I was wondering about getting just a bit of definition. Maybe working on lights and darks as David Thomassen did with the Jamie Douglas' swan image posted here would be interesting. The link is http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...eferrerid=3401
I also wondered about sharpening it just a bit more, particularly the eye?
It is a beautiful image, worthy of lots of attention to bring it to its fullest potential.
    Cheers
    Gail
