    Default Bufflehead on Calm Water

Always nice to get a duck on totally calm water with a great reflection. Even nicer when it's a Bufflehead drake in good light.

Lovely. The water is so calm. The reflection has also come out well.

Doug, good exposure on those colours on the head, and a lovely HA too. You couldnt have asked for calmer water, thus creating a perfect reflection. The droplets adds to the image.

This is excellent. I love the colors and the reflection. These guys are seriously hard to properly expose, and I always love to see the iridescence of the head.

Wow!! Such a beautiful image. The calm blue water is a perfect compliment to the duck. They are spooky here on Long Island..any tips on how to get close?

Great shot, I love the colors in this and the reflection really completes the image. The detail is also nice and sharp and especially like the water droplets on the feathers.

This was shot at a fairly extreme focal length; 840mm on a 1.6 crop body. This wasn't from a blind or anything. You just have to find the right place, in this case Bolsa Chica Wetlands in Southern California.
