    Default Textured Theme: Sittin' Pretty

An image of an American Tree Sparrow where I applied a texture overlay in multiply mode then used the lasso tool to remove texture from the tree limb and most of the bird.
I'm really enjoying the many techniques being shared here; trying out new filters and graphic software is great fun, since I become a bit bored using the same techniques over and over again- so thanks to all for sharing your 'tools of the trade', and your creative work :)

suggestions & comments are always appreciated~

Very nice texture on the BG, Cindy! It is very fitting of the sparrow from a color standpoint as this is the bird that always blends right in with everything! I do feel he might be a little centered in the frame, though. I'd consider chopping off the bottom right below his tail and taking a sliver off the top, moving his head more into the ROT's position.

I love the texture, Cindy and for me, I like some 'space' around the bird and would be afraid if you cropped that he would fit too tightly in the frame, although a tad off the top wouldn't hurt. There's some good interest throughout the frame. Nicely captured.

Beautiful bird and texture, Cindy. I love the colors. I probably would have preferred a bit of color saturation and contrast in the bird; but that's me. Beautifully presented. TFS.

Cindy, beautiful image to start with and I love the textures that you applied. I've really appreciated the
links to websites that offer free textures and I'm looking forward to using some of them:)

There is something so simple in this and it really works for me. Nice fairly monochromatic palette. Agree with Indranil and maybe just a bit of contrast and sat. in the bird.
