I have a sneaking suspicion this is going to be a major "duh" moment, but I'm drawing a blank on successfully identifying this bird - I find birds that seem plausible but then find things that seem to not match. And then I convince myself I'm getting too complicated and this must surely be something like an extremely common house sparrow or something :)
This image was captured yesterday on my deck in North Georgia. I apologize for the poor quality - it was taken through a window with a screen on it .
Thank you in advance!
(ETA: I should add that my identification ramblings took me past Palm Warbler and American Redstart, but things just didn't seem right. Thankfully, I know I'm awful at bird identification, so I'm happy to be set straight!)
The plumage of both the male and female is similar in the fall and it's hard for me to tell with any certainty from this image if it is a female. Some of the experts on this forum can probably find something to verify if it is a female though.
