Scott:

An interesting perch because of the shapes and texture, but it does tend to overpower the bird.
The exposure looks good, but the light was well off to your right causing pretty strong side lighting.

I wish the head was around a bit more our way.
I would consider toning down the brighter areas in the background so it doesn't compete so much with the bird.
