    Default Female Magnificent Frigate Bird

Hi folks. Happy New Year to all!
I had the chance to photograph for my first time, the Magnificent Frigate Bird.
Here is a shot of a female in flight.

    Canon 1D MK 11 N / Canon 400 f5.6 / 1/1600th @ f5.6 ISO 400 / handheld from boat/ Barbuda, West Indies

    Thanks Dave!!!

Looking forward to some of Jennifer's work too :)

Lovely bird and pose, specially that turned tail! Excellent detail in the body, you had perfect light angle and she was probably ready to land and at a low altitude. They can soar!!!

    David,

    Welcome to BPN!!

I like this image, love there birds which I saw quite a few of in Bonaire while diving. Could use a little more contrast on the bird maybe seems a little flat on my monitor but maybe I worked too late! The BG does not look flat but has good contrast.

Anyway, brings back good memories of the Caribbean and a nice image for sure!

    Welcome John,

You did very well with the panning. I find the wings a little distracting as they are all over the place. At first I thought that was branches in the BG but nothing you could do about it.

The exposure and details are awesome!

Hi David, Happy New Year. What an experience this must have been. I really like the unusual pose and BG. If anything maybe a tiny boost in contrast.
