Got this early this morning near a small Little Tern colony at the Entrance which is a bout an hour drive north of Sydney.
The council fenced the area on the beach where these birds are nesting and it looks like it is a wonderful solution. This year looks like a very good year for these gorgeous little birds with 20-30 nesting pairs after a few years of failing attempts due to predation by dogs, foxes etc.

Love the sharpness, the wing up position and how you can clearly make out the eye among the black feather. I might tone down the highlight in the tail a bit and bring out a little more detail in the black if possible.

Good job, Ofer. Head turn toward you lets the going away pose show the wing detail nicely while retaining great eye contact.

    Hi Ofer

Excellent Little Tern image, they are a difficult bird to capture well in flight and this one ticks all the boxes. We have a breeding colony of around 120 pairs on a local beach in the summer. This area is fenced off and has people watching over it continuously from the birds arrival until they leave.

    Cheers

    Rich
